SOUTH AFRICA #48- LUXURY PLAINS AND DANGEROUS GAME SAFARIS

ABout this Adventure

This experienced PH honors the tradition of fair chase hunting across one of the last great tracts of pristine Kalahari wilderness. With over 46,000 acres of unspoiled terrain and diverse wildlife, they offer an authentic, ethical, and unforgettable hunting experience.
Whether you seek the thrill of tracking game or the serenity of the African bush, this luxury lodge is where your ultimate safari adventure begins.

Over three and a half decades ago this PH and his family welcomed their first visitors to their 46,000-acre piece of Kalahari Eden. They want to personally invite you to experience one of the last great tracts of hunting land. A place they call home, and where they offer you and your family an unforgettable safari experience.

The PH is situated in South Africa’s malaria-free, North West Province, close to the Botswana border. You will see 4 of the Big 5 roaming in their habitat. It consists of Savannah/Bushveld vegetation with an annual rainfall of only sixteen inches. The Camelthorn acacia trees are a stunning feature of the area and combined with a Kalahari sunset, you will have memories and photographs to share with your family and friends.
With over 35 species of plains game and 4 of the big 5 roaming on their concession, there are numerous options regarding duration of hunts for every budget. They also access to numerous hunting concessions for some of the specialized and highly sought after trophies throughout Southern, Eastern and Central Western Africa.

This family friendly safari lodge uses only highly qualified and experienced professional hunters with numerous years of dangerous game experience. All of our professional hunters have been licensed through top accredited agents. With a vast knowledge of animal behavior and trophy judgement, they will make it their quest to harvest you the best possible trophies giving you a world-class safari experience. Combined with the help of a seasoned driver and tracker, who has spent years mastering this difficult and complicated craft, together they form an integral part of a great team, making sure that your chances of success are as high as possible.

HUNTING VEHICLES
The lodge has a well-maintained fleet of customized Toyota Land Cruisers. These vehicles have custom made seats allowing the hunter and professional hunter to spot game off in the distance, giving the hunting party an advantage. Comfortable chairs allow the hunter to hunt all day without getting sore or uncomfortable. A cooler box is filled with ice-cold drinks to quench the hunters’ thirst during the warm Kalahari days.

AIR TRANSFERS
With its own dirt airstrip right behind the lodge, air transfers into and out of this lodge is easy. They own a Cessna 206, this reliable light aircraft will comfortably seat 4 passengers with a limited amount of luggage. With larger hunting groups, they have numerous charter planes that will comfortably accommodate all size hunting parties. Road transfers from Johannesburg to the lodge can be arranged for clients in numerous sized vehicles. Please just take note that this road transfer is a 6-hour drive.

MAIN LODGE
The main lodge is a hub of activity at the camp where meals and social activities take place. The lodge has Wi-Fi and satellite TV access to keep in touch with the outside world. The chef’s serve only the best traditionally prepared South African cuisine ranging from choice venison cuts harvested on the property and prepared to perfection to the freshest of ingredients for any dietary requirements.

ACCOMMODATIONS
Their luxury villas are situated close to the main lodge giving you a little private slice of African paradise.
It’s air-conditioned to help keep the Kalahari heat at bay and boasts its own veranda overlooking the waterhole, where animals often come to drink. It’s roofed with a traditional African grass called thatching and features sumptuous linen and wood furnishings.
The luxury experience continues in these breathtaking rooms. The twin rooms and the en-suite bathrooms come with a superb view from all angles allowing the beauty of the bush inside your room. The rooms have been designed to maintain privacy and can be adapted to sleep 2-8 people, ideal should you bring the family.

The main bedroom has a luxurious en-suite bathroom surrounded by big glass windows and doors with beautiful views of the bushveld. It’s fitted with all the luxuries one would expect of a five-star lodge. There are indoor and outdoor showers, and twin his and her basins. After a long day of hunting take the time to let the dust and excitement wash away and then join us for a cocktail at the bar, or share stories around an open Camel Thorn fire on the deck with lions roaring in the distance. Relax in the large hot tub, unwind and savor the tranquility of the bush in the exquisitely furnished lounge or stretch out on the patio with a sundowner.

WHAT TO BRING
Chargers – Various chargers and travel adaptors for South African plugs.
PLEASE NOTE that all plug outlets in South Africa run 220V so a power converter may be required for electrical chargers that only accept 110V.
Binoculars – a good pair of 10X40 binoculars.
Clothing – They have laundry service that does laundry on a daily basis so we advise you not to bring too much hunting clothes.
Digital Camera – A good quality still camera with at least 14MP that can take pictures in low light will be great. Please just ensure that your camera charger takes 220V.

RIFLES- As per hunting regulations in South Africa, any dangerous game (Elephant, Lion, Leopard, Buffalo, Rhino, Hippo) to be hunted needs to be done with a minimum caliber of .375. This caliber is one of the most versatile out there and with the right ammunition can be used to harvest plains game as well. We recommend a common caliber for plains game species, your average shots will be anywhere between 100 – 300 yards, bearing this in mind, no super-fast shooting calibers are recommended. Some of the rifles that have performed best have been .300 Win Mag and 7MM, these rifles perform well on antelope ranging from steenbok to eland.
They also have a wide variety of rifles in different calibers that are available for clients to use.
