BIG MIDWEST WHITETAILS – MISSOURI #129

BIG MIDWEST WHITETAILS – MISSOURI #129

Our affiliation with this outfitter goes back so far that we don’t even actually remember when we started working together. We have sent so many clients to his operations over the years that the total is above triple digits. He runs operations in several states, and now we get to add this hunt to the list. What’s that mean for you? It means that you are going to hunt with a seasoned outfitter; one that is trusted to provide the kind of hunt that keeps clients coming back. He isn’t trying to figure it out as he goes. He knows what he is doing. Almost everyone that works at Hunt-Nation has hunted with him personally. That says it all right there!

BIG DEER
These trophy deer hunts take place in the heart of one of the best whitetail destinations in the country!
North-central Missouri’s rolling-row crop farmland, with fence rows and hardwood forest cover, along with plentiful creek supplied water, just grows big deer! This habitat and the great genetics make these hunts true gems for the hunter looking for quality deer. Our agent Eddie Deuser has his family’s personal hunting property located nearby, and can attest that this area is well-known for its quality and quantity of deer.

These days, it is getting harder and harder to find States that offer quality deer hunts and where hunters can readily get a license. That makes these hunts very attractive. Here, inexpensive non-resident deer licenses are all over-the-counter! That includes your choice of archery, rifle, or muzzleloader. You pick your favorite method to hunt and you can go do it with no limitations. Crossbows are legal during archery season too!

This outfitter has approximately 22 parcels of leased land, covering some 3,500 acres. This number does fluctuate year by year, as some leases are added and a few may drop away. These are semi-guided, 100% fair chase hunts, which means they get you to and from your hunting stands, and then they are within cell phone contact for when the hunter needs any additional help. They will assist you in retrieving your buck from the hunting location and field dressing your deer as well. They run about 50 different treestands, 6 tri-pod stands, and about 25 ground blinds. This offers hunters different options so they can hunt the way they are comfortable, and allows for relocating a hunter if that’s what’s needed for the hunt. If you plan on using a treestand, you must bring your own safety harness. This is a requirement for both archery or gun!

The complex has a bunkhouse with 8 separate rooms and 3 separate baths, and can sleep up to 16 people. Meals are served at the event center next door. There you go and get breakfast, dinner, and make what you want to take out to the field for lunch. A laundry facility and an outdoor pavilion are available for your use.

The weather often allows for deer to hang outside under a covered area. This is a spot that allows you to process or skin your deer for the trip home as well. Ice can be obtained close by if needed.

They are located about 40 miles north of Columbia, about halfway between Kansas City and St. Louis. Commercial airline service is available into Columbia for those that want to fly. Arrangements can be made for a pick up and drop off.

The number of hunters is limited, and there is a 130/140-inch minimum (total antler length) requirement. The outfitter doesn’t impose any penalty for breaking the minimum but strongly stresses taking mature deer only. This helps to ensure a superior hunting experience, with an increased opportunity for success and bigger trophy bucks as well!

2024 PRICES (subject to change without notice until deposit received)

You will arrive at noon the day before your hunt begins, and leave the morning after the hunt is completed. The Missouri rifle seasons change each year, but they will either start on the 2nd or 3nd Saturday in November and run for 10 days. It ends the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. Archery hunts run for a couple of weeks before the rifle season, and the late muzzleloader season is right after Christmas.
