Pursue Red and Sika stags across thousands of acres of rugged Highland terrain, all wild and free range, where open hills meet ancient woodland. This is stalking in its purest form—glassing from high ridgelines, working the wind, crawling through heather, and earning every opportunity through patience and skill. As the day winds down, return to the lodge for a well-earned whisky beside the fire.
Located two hours north of Inverness Airport in Sutherland, this ground lies within one of Britain’s last true wilderness regions. The landscape blends sweeping moorland with dense forestry, offering a mix of technical woodland stalks and longer, exposed hill approaches across striking, open country. You’ll hunt one-on-one with a seasoned local stalker who knows the terrain intimately.
Accommodation is at Garvault House, mainland Britain’s most remote hotel. Surrounded by miles of untouched wilderness, with no other buildings within 20 miles, evenings are spent by the peat fire in the library or sharing stories over a three-course dinner of locally sourced game and wild trout. All meals and drinks are included—house wines, beers, and spirits—with specific requests arranged upon request.
The experience is designed for up to four hunters and observers. While hunters are out on the hill, observers can enjoy guided excursions through the Highlands, visiting castles, whisky distilleries, wild beaches, and some of the most dramatic coastal landscapes in Britain.

Accommodation & Hospitality
Guests stay at Garvault House. Tucked deep within the Sutherland wilderness, with no other buildings visible for 20 miles, it’s a place few ever come across—let alone experience. Run by archaeologists, the house has the feel of a private home rather than a traditional hotel.
Evenings unfold around the peat fire in the library or in the drawing room with a dram in hand. There’s a piano, board games, chess, and shelves of books—though conversation rarely leaves room for them. Dinner is served communally at a single long table, with locally sourced game, wild trout, and home-cooked dishes that consistently exceed expectations.
Bedrooms are individually styled, each with an ensuite bathroom and views stretching over the lochs and rolling hills of the Flow Country. The house operates off-grid—no cell signal, no distractions—just wide skies and remarkably clear, star-filled nights. Wi-Fi is available for those who need to stay connected.
Each day begins with a cooked breakfast, followed by a packed lunch for the hill and a three-course dinner in the evening. House wines, beers, and spirits are included, and specific bottles can be arranged on request.

Trophy Exports
The outfitter will help facilitate everything once your hunt is complete. Your trophy is professionally prepared and personally delivered to their trusted export partner, whose team has decades of experience shipping to the United States. They handle all documentation, including USDA requirements and customs clearance, ensuring a smooth process from start to finish. In most cases, your trophy arrives at your door within about 60 days of the hunt.
Red deer and Sika are classified as non-CITES species, so no special permits are required for import into the U.S. Shipping and handling fees are paid directly to the export company, and they will introduce you to them ahead of your trip so you have a clear understanding of the process.
