We have worked with this outfitter since he started outfitting some 25 years ago. We have literally sent him hundreds of hunters in the many years since. We ourselves have hunted multiple Elk, Aoudad sheep, exotics, hogs and more with him. We took game with bow and rifle and muzzleloader. He is honest, hardworking and knows his area and the game. He reached out to us in June of 2026, requesting that Hunt Nation help him to secure a number of whitetail deer hunters for a new ranch in Texas that he had just secured the hunting rights on. He was very excited about all the deer, hogs, turkey and Aoudad on the place.
The new ranch is 30,000 acres large. Of particular note was that the ranch has adopted the TEXAS MLD deer program. The Texas Managed Lands Deer Program (MLDP) is a voluntary program by the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department that allows private landowners to improve deer populations and habitats by cooperating with their game department on management and habitat and game populations. Joining the program means the ranch gets extended hunting seasons (typically October through late February) and get customized, flexible harvest limits by bypassing standard county restrictions. The State sends out trained wildlife biologists to check game populations, fly drones, then suggest goals for harvest and habitat. They then work with the ranch on liberalized bag limits. The ranch has a lot of deer! They have 30 of these MLD tags for bucks and 75 tags for does! So you will be able to take multiple animals on your hunt.
Since 2026 will be the first year of hunting for this operation, the expectations are high. We try to stay conservative when talking about game harvests, to avoid setting unreasonable expectations. The outfitter himself, hunting adjacent land, has taken whitetails in the 150 to 160 range—BUT please do not book expecting a trophy of that size. It certainly could happen, but we prefer that you reasonably expect deer in the 120 to 140 range, with a chance of bigger. In addition to one trophy buck, as part of the hunting package you may also shoot one doe, PLUS unlimited numbers of hogs-(they are a nuisance, but are tasty!!). At the time of this writing (June 2026), no decision has been made on harvesting extra does, or on adding a second buck, or on adding an Aoudad. We know they will become available, but terms are not yet firm. We anticipate it may be an on the hunt decision. Aoudad Sheep likely may become another target with an additional fee. Just ask us for updated info.
Hunting style will be mixture of stand hunting, and depending on game movements, also rattling and stalking. Shots can be under 100 yards, but could stretch out much further, perhaps 300 yards plus. The guiding will be 2 hunters per guide at present, although you may sit alone in a blind. Your Guide will field dress your game and return it to the ranch for your care and transport from there.
Lodging will be a comfortable ranch house, with all the usual amenities, including baths etc. Meals are included,, but nothing fancy. You arrive the afternoon before your hunt; you leave by 9AM on the day after your hunt.
Transport: Fly to Lubbock, rent a car and drive to ranch. Or fly to Dallas and rent a car. Lubbock is closer, about 2 hours.
License: A non-resident general hunting license in Texas costs $315. This acts as your base license and includes the necessary tags to legally hunt deer, as well as any other legal bird or animal. It allows multiple deer to be taken, but your hunt is for one buck. Note: Anyone born on or after September 2, 1971, must successfully complete a Hunter Education course to hunt in Texas.
2026 PRICING: 4 days hunting; 5 nights, one trophy buck, one doe, plus unlimited hogs, guided with meals and lodging: $5,000. An immediate 50% deposit is required to book this hunt.
Hunts start on Oct 2 and run into 3rd week of Nov. Ask for open dates.
NOTE: We expect this offering to sell out very quickly !!
