Physically, Gould’s turkeys are among the most impressive of all subspecies. Mature toms typically weigh between 20 and 25 pounds, while hens average 8 to 12 pounds.
They feature the longest legs, largest feet, and longest central tail feathers of any wild turkey subspecies. Their beautiful white-tipped tail fan feathers and tail coverts make them instantly recognizable and highly sought after by collectors and slam hunters alike. Due to the steep, rocky terrain they inhabit, their spurs and beards are often shorter and more worn than other turkeys, with average beards around 8.5 inches and spurs generally under half an inch.

Hunters have to fly to Chihuahua City airport, there are 2 daily flights from Dallas, TX.
Ranch staff will pick hunters at the airport and drive to the ranch, around 2.5 hrs away.
